I stated before in an earlier post.
There was no way in hell this tournament was even going to be held this year anyway. The fights were already set up so i don't know why the hell everyone is pissed when these conditions turned up. Bradley wants to fight Khan or Marquez for the pay. Khan wants to fight Marquez for the name and quite honestly its a much harder fight then we all think. Alexander though being an unified champion, is at the bottom of the barrel due to his lack of fame and revenue so ofcourse he will fight anyone. Meanwhile, you have Ortiz who is still trying to get back his winning streak on track, and Maidana's whole fake back injury turning out to be managerial dispute is ****in up his whole fighting schedule. If this tournament goes through, which it may...it will be 2011 AT BEST. And in the end of the day you wanna know what happens? Fuqqin Andreas Kotelnik gets a shot at TWO champion belts.

What would be funny is if Kotelnik beat Alexander, Bradley, Khan moved up in weight and beat Berto and landed a fight with Pacman or Mayweather at 147lbs.

All im saying is we cant make judgements based on the present situation. We MUST wait and see what happens in the next occurring months. Because to be fair, everybody in the 140 division has **** on their hands. not just bradley and khan.

Before i make a reply, let me just say that the man in your Avy is a powerful presence.
At any rate, If you wanted my answer as to why Khan is/wants (who knows) to fight Marquez i honestly would not know the answer. Perhaps it could be do to the very same reason Bradley wants to fight him, a GREAT fighter with a good name to add to their resume. The only reason why i even give a shred of credit to both fighters if they fight Marquez is because his previous fight was against Floyd at 144 pounds, Which is of course heavier then both what Khan and Bradley fight at. I think it also has to be noted that this is Juan Manuel Marquez we are talking about, not just some random fighter. I do believe that Khan will go on to fight Maidana in the future, next year at best. Just as i believe Bradley will go on to fight Alexander as well. But for now, what i think these young fighters are trying to do is still build their name and try to become the next big sellers in boxing.

Great thread Hard Boiled. . I especially liked the Bradley part. Bradley calls Amir the weakest link but then he says that he wants that fight the most. And nobody hates him for saying that. But I bet if Amir had said that everybody would be hating on him.

Why is it that Floyd can fight a lightweight in Marquez at 147lbs, But Khan a former lightweight himself who just moved up in weight cant fight him at 140lbs?

Marquez must fight Khan or he can never enter the hall of fame. Khan needs to use Marquez name on his resume.
