Golden Boy openly ducking Bradley and Alexander

"We are lining up some pretty big fights for him, including the winner of Marquez-Diaz or potentially Maidana or Michael Katsidis," Schaefer said, adding that Khan would be ringside to scout Marquez-Diaz II in advance of a fight in November or December. "These are exciting fights. That is the direction we want to go. But eventually the fights [with Bradley and Alexander] will happen."

In other words. "We're going to let Khan face easier fighters and cross our fingers that Alexander and Bradley either fight each other or lose. We can't risk Khan losing us money."

But after all Khan/Katsidis is a HUGE fight. So maybe I'm wrong.

If Bradley and Alexander want a payday against khan or otiz, they need to earn it by fighting each other and getting some fans.

Look ive said it before Khan has by far the biggest fanbase/hatebase in the division, He earns more than Alexander and Bradley put together for a single fight and he has been ear-marked for the mega-fights Marquez, Mayweather down the line.

Alexander and Bradley dont have a large fanbase, Nothing like the millions of ardent fans Khan has got, They just dont have the MTV appeal, Movie star looks that Khan has or the Olympic pedegree.

So instead of dreaming about a Khan fight which is not going to happen anytime soon they should get settle things between Bradley and Alexander.

Simply put De La Hoya and Golden boy have bigger plans for Khan than Don King has for Alexander and Shaw has for Bradley.

So do those plans not include fighting the best guys at 140?

I agree with this, Joell Casamayor & Michael Katsidis are bigger then a Maidana, Alexander or Bradley fight.

For Goldenn boy promotions not at this point in time but thats Golden boys prerogative. Khan is already a world champion he doesnt need to unify titles, All he needs to do is make defences of his own WBA title. Beyond that, Unfication fights are upto him and his team they dont have to take unifcation fights. Also why would Khan take a unification fight for the same $1.5 million he already earns for his WBA title?

Unifcation fights dont make sense for him right now moneywise, For Bradley and Alexander it will be big money because they are on meagre wages. I remember Shaw said the winner of the tournament should get $500,000, Thats such a low ammount for Khan, He would never fight in a tournament for show a meagre ammount. Thats alot of money for Bradley and Alexander but its nothing for Khan.

The sooner Khan faces someone like Maidana the better. At least if he gets taken out, it will be time saved instead of wasted in showing a bunch of his fights against fighters that are smaller, non punchers and washed up. I think Khan’s fight against Malignaggi was a total waste, because it wasn't a good test for his chin and a lot of people think he’s the real deal. But when he’s eventually put in with a big puncher like Maidana, all those new fans of Khan will probably be crying crocodile tears and wondering what happened to their new hero.

Shaw said the $500,000 should be a BONUS for the winner not the total amount of the fight a boxers earns for a tournament.

                  What bigger names?

Marquez is the only legitimate name that's bigger then Alexander & Bradley but let's recap Khan's comments here.

'I'm not leaving this division until i unify the title'

                  'I want Maidana next'

it is amazing to me how people are defending Khan's ducking of the best fighters in his division...WOW!

but at the same time I do think King and Shaw need to do a better job promoting their talented young fighters
