WBC/IBF junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander and manager/trainer Kevin Cunningham are backing the idea of promoter Gary Shaw to stage a 140-pound tournament. Shaw, who promotes WBO champion Timothy Bradley, had a meeting with HBO and outlined his idea for a four man tournament that involves Alexander, Bradley, WBA champion Amir Khan, and Juan Manuel Marquez - if he beats Juan Diaz next month in Las Vegas. I'm getting sick of all this, oh my guy will fight anyone, this other guy won't fight anyone.
Give over.
For varying reasons and circumstances I don't believe any of the top JWW's don't want to face the best and prove themselves.
As usual there's just ego's, contracts, different offers, money, dates, venues, injuries, management issues, promoters, managers, tv contracts, and propaganda fucking up fights happening again.
Most of them will end up fighting, it'll just take time.Comment

Why mention his name? The guy is involved in a legal battle with his manager and promoters. Who would be ****** enough to involve a guy who may not be able to even fight? Did everyone just forget that Maidana withdrew from two Bradley dates with a bogus injury?Comment

But I agree with the part that his manvgerial problems might keep him off the tourney.
But still you expect this guys to atleast mention the guy. He is the bigger threat to all and each of themComment

some people just dont see it
plus its a great idea anywayComment

Marquez in this tournament is ridiculous. He's not a jr. welterweight, never fought at 140. He's a natural 126-130lbs fighter. Maidana should fill in the 4th spot. If he's still having managerial problems, then go to the next contender Victor Ortiz.Comment
