Nautilus you must be talking about an old Mike Tyson. The Young Mike was a destroyer and had no reason to resort to such horrible tactics. I will be the first to say that Mike was never the same after he came out of jail. In fact his downfall started with his loss to Buster Douglas. But Peter's post fight comments were rediculous, thats all boxing needs is a religous fanatic.

Tyson's downfall started with his loss to Buster Douglas?? More like Tyson was FINISHED when he left the Catskills in June 1988 after the Spinks fight, he was a shadow of his former self in his first fight without Rooney (Bruno 89) and only fought twice in two years before the Douglas fight - not to mention hardly training at all!

(Mike fought every month or two under Rooney/Jacobs/Cayton and trained extremely hard upto June 1988 - but after that he was done, lost hunger, nothing to prove, attempted suicide over Givens etc)

Peter will exclipse Tyson in terms of greatness. He has much, much greater strength and reach, and his power is at least equal to a prime Tyson's. I can't say with absolute certainty, but I think his chin and heart will end up being better as well.

Sure he isn't difficult to hit but honestly neither were Joe Louis, George Foreman, or Rocky Marciano. He's still learning his craft and is only 24 years old. What you are seeing now is still a baby version of the Sam Peter who will become undisputed heavyweight champion.

I don't think Peter will exceed Mike Tyson's achievments. He doesn't move as quick on his feet and his punches arent as accurate. He is also 24 right now. Mike Tyson was already at his prime when he was 20.

No he's not Tyson but to sit there and say he's going to do just like Ike is racist. You're saying that because he's Nigerian too, which is discriminatory.

Snoopy, what the ****? You sound like you're pissed that he won.

Who the hell said this was the next Tyson? I haven't heard that one, not by anybody that matters. He's a prospect, simple as that. He could turn into the real deal or could flop majorly. He's probably ready for Ruiz, but Byrd and Klitschko would beat him right now. He should fight McCline or Whitaker to help him if he plans on a Klitschko bout, more for the height than anything.

2 difference between Peter & Ike. Peter is a family man with kids & he is not crazy in real life. It's all an act folks, Peter is not crazy.

I don't think Ike was crazy, but he had some serious problems. I think anyone stays in Jail for 3 years, they will say some crazy things. Ike is a sad case, he would of destroyed anyone. I still think Ike VS.Tua is probably the best heavyweight fight I ever seen. It was 2 guys that with amazing chins, most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight. 2 guys that hit like Tyson, but Ike had more speed & skills then Tua. I think Tua kind of slowed down after the Ike fight. If Tua would of had Ike speed, he would of been unbeatable. Tua & Ike took punches better then any heavyweights I've seen. 2 of the toughest guys you will ever gonna see in boxing. I wish Tua was a little faster & was a little better boxer, he would of beat the crap out of Lewis & everyone else.

Tua showed just how ****ty he is against Lennox Lewis, Byrd, and Oquendo. Powerful, absolutely. Good chin, undeniable. But a definite lack of skill, and hell, desire. He didn't even try doing anything against Lewis until LITERALLY the last 10 seconds of the fight in the 12th round. Pathetic.

Had Oquendo kept Tua off just a little longer, he was on the way to a very easy victory over Tua. It was a shut out until Tua walked through his shots and landed his own big shot.

Here with go with the Tyson crap.If he beats everyone in his way including Vitali and all the other contenders and has a longer career then the crap that Tyson had, he indeed will be better. This guy has size and reach unlike Tyson who was a mere 5'10 or 5'11 and couldnt beat fighters who had a reach and a jab!

...It's just the myth that is Tyson being revisited. Why even compare the two?? Tyson huggers need something to keep them warm at night I guess.

I never said he had great skills, but Tua did slow down after that great war against Ike. A young Tua wasn't that slow. All the guys you've mention did win in a chicken way against Tua. Tua will kill any of these guys in street fight. Ike would of destroyed Lennox lewis within 3 rounds with his glass chin.. Ike had more skills then Tua, that was the only difference between these 2 tough guys.
