Alexander Dimitrenko will fight Denis Bakhtov for Euro belt

Alexander Dimitrenko (29-1, 19 KOs) will probably fight against Denis Bakhtov (33-5, 22 KOs) for the vacant EBU (European) heavyweight title on July 31. The teams have until June 21 to agree to the bout.

Bakhtov, age 30, is a small heavyweight at 5'11" but he's now won nine fights in a row, seven of those by stoppage.

Dimitrenko, age 27, hasn't fought since losing to Eddie Chambers in a WBO eliminator on July 4, 2009.

Audley Harrison recently vacated the belt to concentrate on a possible all-British showdown against WBA champ David Haye.

So Fraudley dropped the belt instead of defending it on the off chance that Diva Gaye will fight him? Man, A-Farce is a joke, he must not have any confidence in winning against Dimitrenko then.

why would audley fight dimitrenko for a fraction of the price he would earn against haye? audleys not bothered about titles at this stage of his career. all about the money. sure he would rather get slapped aorund by haye for more money

I said on the "off chance", Fraudly is not garaunteed the Gaye fight yet and nothing has been signed as far as I know. He should have defended the belt and waited for other opportunities to come along. Maybe if he knocked Dimitrenko out in spectacular fashion the Klitschkos would have taked notice. As of now, he gave up the belt for nothing.

Harrison-Dimitrenko would have been a good matchup. Harrison has no chance against Haye.

It will be interesting to see how good or bad Dimitrenko looks after the long layoff and coming off his first loss...

This fight will be in Russia on Friday, July 30. If Dimitrenko defeats Bakhtov, he'll be ranked by the WBC and become a potential opponent foir Vitali.

Universum has done a poor job with Dimitrenko, keeping him inactive now for over a year.

Harrison is ****e. I have no idea why people still talk about him. He gets brutally murdered by all three boxers mentioned in this thread.
