Yea the BWAA vote for who was the best fighter for that decade. Not who was the most popular fighter of that decade. Like I said that was the case Oscar would of been voted FOTD in the 90's. But, Roy who was the best fighter got it.

so the winner was determined in a ********ic fashion, im a floyd fan and i know pacquiao is more popular than floyd. his style is more entertaining and thus more fans.theres no electorate in place to balance out the popular vote. weather or not you want to admitt it its been popular for a while for boxing writers to not hold up to there journalistic integrity and instead of just reporting facts they report their feelings i.e. opinions. in this trend it has been very popular to hate floyd. so because there is no electorate of non biased boxing writers to balance out the popular vote its simply a popularity contest. manny is more popular and so he wins.

Obviously feeling that his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., should have received the award, Sr. went on to call into question Pacquiao's accomplishments.


"Pacquiao ain't no ****ing fighter of the decade. He is a *****," a heated Mayweather Sr. commented. "Pacquiao has 2 draws and a loss in this decade. Lil' Floyd is undefeated in this decade and in his career. On top of that, Pacquiao beat 2 guys Lil' Floyd already beat and struggled twice with a guy Floyd blanked out 12 rounds to nothing," he added, implying that Pacquiao's achievments pale in comparison to those of his son.


Not only feeling that his son was slighted, Mayweather Sr. also believes that the true boxing fans, as well as the sport itself, was slighted with the BWAA's pick. "That's the kind of **** that hurts boxing. It makes no sense. Too many people in the sport don't know what the ****'s going on.
