Cotto should Kick john Duddys ass in NY to stay busy, Margarito should fight JCCjr in Mexico and then the Cotto Margo rematch in Yankee stadium or el Choliseo!!


Thats what should happend then the winner of Margo Cotto deserves a fight with a elite, like Pacquiao or Floyd!!

He should face Cory Spinks, Angulo. This would allow him some time to improve under Steward, then he can face off against Martinez, Pacquiao, Paul Williams or Mayweather. Now isn't the right time to face Martinez. Allow him to rebuild his confidence.

Honestly I think he should do this in the following order

Next fight- Corey Spinks-unification bout, Spinks is a light puncher, and has slowed down quite a bit. Cotto could further build up his confidence and it gives Manny time to Iron out some more flaws in Miguel's game

After that-Chavez Jr. fight. Another light puncher and helps Cotto get even more confidence while earning a big check in the process

3rd fight- Angulo vs Dzinzurik winner. Gives Cotto a chance to pick up another belt and he will be stepping his comp up to world championship level as both Angulo and Dzin are top 5-7 fighters at 154.

4th fight..Go for an elite name at 147 or 154. Maybe a Pacquiao/Margarito rematch if both are still around.

I really don't see what the big rush is as far as getting him in their with the elite fighters. I say give him a year or so to get his confidence built back up, win a few belts and allow Manny to fine tune his game. Cotto can sell on his name alone and also he is only 29 with 4-5 years of fighting still left in him. Now if he was gonna retire at 30 like he said early in his career, then yeah I say go for broke (Mayweather, Pacquiao, Martinez or Margarito) but now that he has a change in attitude I would like him to build himself back up at a slower pace (1 year or so). This is just my opinion on how I would handle Cotto if I were Trampler or Arum.

@154 Cotto should stay away from the big dogs(martinez,williams,). He needs Chavez jr, Duddy, Cintron(big punch no heart) or a one dimensional fighter like Margarito jr(Angulo). He should only fight Pac again if he's suicidal
