The second thing that made him a star is his style. He's a hurricane fighter who produces KOs. What the people want to see. It's why he is a *Bigger* star than PBF today. He's a bigger draw. He can make more money.

Frankly most people don't like PBF because he doesn't give them what they want to see. Fights with KOs.
There is a difference between being a star and being a boxing star. Mannys destruction of Oscar turned him into a crossover superstar.

Also your assessment that Manny makes more money than Floyd or is a bigger draw i see as false. All the numbers both past and present suggest Floyd is the bigger draw.

Malignaggi clearly admires Floyd, but he is smart enough to know when to pull the switch. Paulie got that sense for what will get him and his fights publicity.

You know just as well as I do floyd use golden boy to promote fights. They don't choose and pick who he fights. Notice how all the dudes he was suppose to fight are under golden boy. They use floyd to promote their fighters. I never heard no other name from floyd camp(lenard) say anybody other then Pac or Mosley.

But then again if Pac and floyd fought in march we wouldn't have this discussion.

ODLH has that impact. Yes, that did make Manny a mega star. But he was certainly already a boxing star.

The only reason PBF blahing on and on about record draw was because of ODLH, no other reason. Without ODLH he wouldn't be a part of any of that. Manny's numbers were almost identical in the ODLH fight.

Manny vs. Miguel Cotto did 1.25 million buys. PBFs post out of retirement bout with JMM only did 1 million. With a bigger name, Shane vs. Flody did 1.4 million buys...

*That won't happen again because the fight ****** donkey balls*

The only time Floyds draw goes up is when he is fighting an opponent considered exciting. Shane had come off his destruction of Marg. that was
          on everyones mind.

I dont wish to derail this thread, but i think you are incorrect about JMM being a bigger name than Cotto. Not to mention how a fight between Cotto and Manny was in many peoples eyes competitive while JMM vs Floyd Mayweather were a mismatch.

We cant make assumptions that Floyd will not sell as well in the future. If anything, Floyds performance vs Mosley left many critics of Floyd optimistic about his tweaked style. More so than Pacquiao vs Clottey.

Oh well. This is one of the least interesting discussions in boxing so i will leave you with that. If you disagree, then fine.
