    Mayweather Hatton RD 9

Floyd had Hatton hurt in the 8th round, but he didn't press for the knockout in the 9th. Instead he boxed backwards and mostly just used jabs. Why do you think he did this instead of throwing more power punches?

Round 9 was beautiful in my opinion. Round 9 was a straight up jab exhibition.

      He had Hatton calculated...

He know that the money shot was the check hook...he was simply trying to bait Hatton to make it easier on himself because he already knew that he had him

Because Floyd style is Floyds style , the name of the game is winning and its easy to sit back after the event and say why didnt that happen but the dynamic nature of split second responses make it is unanswerable .

I think round 10 gives us the answer.

He baited him in. Hatton had been throwing that leaping left hook throughout the fight. He did it again, and ended up face-first into the ringpost.

He came out different in almost every round if you watch from round one. To show Hatton different looks keeping him off balance basically, if you go into the next round the same as you left the previous one your opponent has more than likely been given something by the trainer in the corner, based on what you were doing the round before. So Hatton didnt know what Floyd was going to do, sometimes Floyd would back up and hold, come forward and hold, jab to the body, straight right hand, leaping left hook, hold. He just never knew what to expect. Remember a fight is 12 little 3 minute fights, not one big one.
