I actually think he had some more to prove. After he beat Tszyu he had a pretty average reign. Urango and Malignaggi are solid wins, hardly the best fighters of his division though. He was champion during a fairly weak period at 140. Floyd and Cotto moved up, Bradley and Alexander weren't there yet. I wanted to see him beat another elite fighter.Comment

He didn't just fall short of Mayweather. He was competitive in some rounds, but ultimately outboxed and knocked out. And Pac demolished him.
He needed another good win. Tszyu was old and inactive anyway. When you look at his schedule, you can argue we had no idea how good he really was at the time. He beat the Sharmbae Mitchells and Jesse James Leijas of the world. Clearly not on the level of some of the 140 pounders we see now and on the level of a Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Cotto.Comment

What have these 140 pounders we have now done to prove they are better? People keep saying this but i just don't see it.He didn't just fall short of Mayweather. He was competitive in some rounds, but ultimately outboxed and knocked out. And Pac demolished him.
