  • Gatti-Harris, both made losing choice in 1st rd.

Harris tried to slug with a slugger, and Gatti tried to box with a boxer. What were they thinking? Both going down that road from the 1st rd only meant disaster waiting to happen. Harris might have had a chance if anyone though once it wasn't working, he should have changed to boxing a lot sooner. Gatti...Gatti..., what the hell was he thinking? Trying to box with probably the greatest boxer today, with the fastest hands in the sport? He's on crack seriously for even thinking he had a chance. Harris should have boxed his way to victory with that Vivian jab, while Gatti should have charged at Mayweather like a bull and just swang for the heavens if he had any chance of touching Mayweather's suspect chin. What are your thoughts?

I have to agree with you. That Harris fight was the first time i actually got to see harris fight and i wasn't impressed. BUt what was gatti thinking, the only reason i gave gatti a chance to win was if he charged and tried to slugg pbf. I was actually dissapointed in him and buddy for making that choice of boxing instead of brawling. On a lighter note, that harris fight was hilarious LOL!

Harris is a soft puncher and a poor fighter because he was so poorly conditioned. Gatti is a good fighter, but he's no Einstein. By the fourth round, he should have been going for broke instead of taking 50 punches flush each round! Either go for the knockout or stay down after a right hand.

Gatti lost this fight when he signed the contract. He had no business stepping in their with Mayweather. He could have continued to fight bums and collect the paychecks.

Harris doesnt usually head hunt and fight that ******! He was obviously trying to impress a Jersey "pro" Gatti crowd, which was needless since he wasnt the one fighting Gatti. He refused to use his jab up until it almost didnt matter anymore, and totally blew that fight.
Gatti did try and outbox one of the slickest technicians in the sport, which was a gigantic mistake. That was the one fight were having Buddy McGirt in his corner wasnt such a good thing

Gatti is one of my favorites to watch, but that was just idiotic. He should have bum-rushed Floyd, Ricky Hatton style.

I'm not so sure he'll get a good paycheck next time out, he's been on his last legs since before the Ward trilogy. I think he should go for one more title shot and call it a career.

Gatti was going to lose anyway, but taking that huge shot at the end of round 1 is what I think sealed the deal prematurely. He screwed up for taking his eyes off Mayweather..if you watch that first round gatti landed a few good jabs though..anyway, you cant do that with mayweather because the time it takes you to look back at him you will be stuck twice
