The bottom line it that Vitali WANTS to fight in Sept. Thus he IS good to fight.

SturmRules keeps suggesting that he should fight someone like Oleg Maskiev because he's coming off the injury.

If Vitali is good to fight, he's good to fight. For the 3rd time now, James Toney is not so formidable an opponent that he needs to be avoided.

As far as the Toney and Vitali negotiations go, Shelly Finkel acknowledged in an interview that Toney IS willing to take a smaller part of the purse, but that they were too far along with the Maskiev fight.

I'll take his word for what he says directly in an interview.

I almost had to have back surgery, **** is no joke. However that doesnt make it OK for Vitali to ****ing fight Maskeav or however you spell his name. That's exactly the point. They used the Maskiev fight as an excuse for why they wouldn't fight Toney, and now apparently they are looking at Brock.

I know that in Vitali's case it stemmed from a leg injury, and that he has said several times he will be in condition and healed enough to fight in Sept.

This is probably the 5th or 6th time I've said this. IF he fought Brewster, Toney, Byrd, and Ruiz, I'd take him over Ruiz. The other fights are all up in the air, and it wouldn't suprize me if he lost to all of them.

But (again for the 5th or 6th time) "What If's" are MEANINGLESS. They are the bread and butter of the Nut Hugging Klitschko fanatic club.

He's ready to fight in Sept.

6th time: James Toney at 5'9, 36 years old, gaining and losing weight and injury prone is not so formidable that he needs to be avoided.

Vitali has said he'll be ready and rehabilitated for Sept 24th.

There is no one in the division that's a monster and needs to be avoided.

He hasn't fought anyone with a pulse in 18 months.

Maybe if he had proven himself and was coming off a string or even one tough and credible win, it might be okay to fight a scrub.

He needs to start fighting contenders, and he needs to do it now.

Brock is a good start, but he's no more or less formidable than Toney.

VK just needs to set an opponent. As long as he fights the Rahman-Barrett winner before the end of the year, I really do not care who is opponent is as long as he is in the top 10. Toney would be the best target since there is no chance of him getting a belt holder, but Brock would be good too.

If no fight is set for Vit, I can see DK prolonging the fight with Rahman/Barrett winner as long as possible to try and freeze Vit from fighting anyone. Get him as out of shape as possible before putting a fighter in there with him.

with that said VK will beat the **** out of Calvin Brock...I have no clue why people are even remotely excited about this guy...he is nothing special, watching his status elevate after his win against McCline is laughable...this is an easy fight for VK. Anyone who thinks Brock is the answer needs to grab their calculator and start crunching more numbers...this guy is an average HW.

I saw Calvin Brock fight McCline and was not overly impressed. Brock is good-but not that good. Mc Cline is no where near as good as Vitaly. Even if Brock was to get to the top one day, he certainly is not ready for Vitaly at this point in his carrer. I am not happy with Vitalys seemingly avoidance of Rachman, he is not doing his credibility anygood.
