Dwyer on Danny Jacobs vs. Dmitry Pirog

Interesting comments...
But consider it's on a Golden Boy card, Jacobs is one of their top up-and-comers. So I doubt whether Pirog will receive fair judging even if he deserves to win.
And the time zone change may affect Pirog, unless he goes to Las Vegas several weeks before the fight. -

Pirog has all the tools to win, Jacobs reminds me of Judah in that he'll run most of his energy early on. I didn't see good stamina against Walker or Smith because of that, so as Dwyer said, Pirog is gonna have to do his best to survive the early rounds (Which I believe he will). I can't make much of an analysis due to Jacob's size, so I'm stuck on that. ****, I'm more excited for this then the main event

I saw some Pirog fights the other day and he does have some sick skills. Top notch inside game. This fight will seperate the future star form the................future star. Someone will come out on top and I will put points on Jacobs.Comment

I had never thought of Pirog as fighting like Floyd Mayweather, but when I just re-watched parts of the fight with Jantuah I can see the similarities in style.
Pirog has a higher work-rate, and his defense is not as perfect as Floyd's.Comment

Not at all bro, this is a pickem fight and I honestly believe this could be our Hopkins-Jones in that they both could be stars in the future and just like those two legends, they are fighting for their first vacant belt.Last edited by SkillspayBills; 06-11-2010, 12:23 AM.Comment
