He should retire, Im wondering if his win over Margarito was just a fluke at this point. He got lucky for one last big fight and he should retire now. Unless he can get a shot at Berto or someone easy like that for one last fight.
No way, there was nothing 'flukey' about that win. He dominated Margarito from the opening bell...

Because his reflexes are not what they once were, because if he engages in one more 'war' he could suffer brain damage. Even now, when he gives interviews he seems kind of 'slow.'
I agree that he does seem slightly punchy.
I still think he would be competitive with Berto, Cotto, Clottey...

how was that a fluke? Its not like he was beaten up by Mayweather, he was OUTBOXED was all, mayweather is the #1 BOXER IN THE WORLD, what do you expect and for people to say hes DONE? cmon...
I think even at 38 he can bounce back against several opponents. Just like when someone wins, he gets overhyped(Martinez-Pavlik) when someone loses or gives a bad performance they get written off. Hopkins looked 45 against Calzaghe then he looked 25 against Pavlik, then Hopkins all of a sudden was back in the talks and top 3 P4P. If Mosley fights again vs a top fighter and wins, people will be talking about how great he is and how he can so and so. It's just natural for boxing fans to act like this.
I think so. The guy has a lot of great wins but is clearly past his 'second prime' and looked shot in his last outing. Why box on? What else does he have to prove? I think he's managed his money responsibly so continuing to fight is not a financial consideration. Why temp fate and risk getting brain damaged? I say walk away now and enjoy the rest of your life...
he can still fight, enough to beat Andre Berto IMO.
Shane should retire unless he needs the money and doesn't mind being a high level gatekeeper. Take away the Margarito win and you have a typical pattern of a fading fighter.
