Now many of you are familiar with the arguement that Pacquiao is changing commission rules by demanding a stiffer weight penalty and how it shows team Pacquiao being hypocritical by not "allowing the commssion to do it's job"....... This isn't my arguement. I am about to show you two other times team Pacquiao has wanted to change the rules:
It seems Pacquiao fans are okay with team Pac enforcing a stricter weight penalty for Mayweather because Mayweather came in 2 pounds over the initially agreed weight of 144 against Marquez. Ok. Fine.
What about Miguel Cotto? Does Miguel Cotto have a history of not making weight? No. Then why was he subject to pay 1 million dollars for every pound he came over 145?
Here's another time team Pacquiao tried to have the rules changed. Many of you forgot that Freddie Roach wanted an automatic DQ for any low blows thrown by Cotto.
However, that's not what the Uniform Rules of the Association of Boxing Commissioners has in it's rules.
It's up to the referee's discretion to DQ Miguel Cotto, not Roach or anyone else for that matter.
So you see, team Pacquiao doesn't give a flying **** about the rules that are in place which makes him no different than Mayweather. Though Mayweather's not the person saying "let the commission do their job"

MANILA (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach will demand referees impose automatic disqualification for any deliberate low blow landed during the Filipino's challenge for Miguel Cotto's WBO welterweight title.

A. Intentional fouls.
1. If an intentional foul causes an injury, and the injury is severe enough to terminate the bout immediately, the boxer causing the injury shall lose by disqualification.
2. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the bout is allowed to continue, the referee shall notify the authorities and deduct two (2) points from the boxer who caused the foul. Point deductions for intentional fouls will be mandatory.
3. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the injury results in the bout being stopped in a later round, the injured boxer will win by TECHNICAL DECISION if he is ahead on the score cards; and the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DRAW if the injured boxer is behind or even on the score cards.
4. If the boxer injures himself while attempting to intentionally foul his opponent, the referee will not take any action in his favor, and this injury shall be the same as one produced by a fair blow.
5. If the referee feels that a boxer has conducted himself in an unsportsman-like manner, he may stop the bout and disqualify the boxer.
