  • I just watched Gatti vs Mayweather again

What the hell was Gatti doing. I never thought I would see the day where he was scared to throw a punch but by the 4th round he was terrified. He had his chances...he had mayweather at close range numerous times and just did not throw a punch in fear that he would get hit.

The only way to beat Floyd is constant pressure the entire fight. You are going to get hit and get hit a lot but if you keep pressure on him all night and keep throwing punches I think you can beat this guy.

That's easier said than done. No one is willing to take that type of punishment for the sake of pressuring. That's virtual suicide.

Im not saying by no means that Ricky Hatton would beat Floyd but I guarantee you he will do whatever he has to do to get inside of floyd...he will give Floyd one hell of a fight, simply based on his will and fighting style...Floyd will no he has been in a fight with Hatton and I promise you PBF will not be in the gym a day or too after they square off either.

Its gonna take a perfectly executed fight plan to defeat PBF..you have to get inside..and hit him with some body punching..just like JLC..did..hes not unbeatable..although he looked freakin awesome against Gatti..it was a total mismatch from the beginning. PBF's fight against Margarito..will be a real test for PBF..

Why would you want to do something like that?
The fight was the ******est fight this year. No competition what so ever.

Its simple. The better fighter won the fight by a brutal one sided beating. Happened just like DLH/Gatti. Nobody said you could not see it coming. people who know boxing knew, Gatti was dead in the water taking the fight.

1.) Floyd has obliterated better competition throughout his career.

2.) Has more speed, strength, stamina, skills than Gatti.

3.) Is at the peak of his career, and Gatti was on the downfall.

I used the analogy. of this fight being like a relationship with a girl. She says "Dont fall in love with me, because I will **** you up". people who fell for Gatti are heartbroken, because they dont play the game very well.

Who wants to throw a punch when you get tagged by 5 in return? But I agree, Gatti had no strategy whatsoever and should have either called it quits by the 4th round or took the count after a right hand. What he did was just ****** in every way. If you're gonna stay in the fight, then at least go for broke and try to KO Mayweather, but don't just sit there, taking 40 flush shots a round!

Gatti can take a punch and has tons of heart but he has been hurt in virtually every fight. Mayweather was simply too fast and skilled. Gatti knew his defense wasn't good enough to evade Mayweather. At the same time, he just couldn't win the exchanges with his slower hands and Mayweather was making him pay. Both his eyes were closing rapidly and soon he wouldn't be able to see anything coming.

Mayweather looked awsome but thats because he was fighting Gatti. Gatti's strategy was ****ed from the start. Tuck your chin raise your shoulder bull****, aim at the body. Maybe if Gatti had done it more consistently he would have been TKO'd one round later. I still think Castillo beat Mayweather the first time.

Mayweather was huting him now also. Better to do some damage to your opponent yourself while being hurt anyways (it is something castillo's trainer told castillo in the mayweather fight).

Gatti was now on the receiving end, the lack of pressure gave mayweather all the time he needed to pick his shots. For Mayweather it is also easier to dodge one shot that a volley of shots.

I think that Gatti's gameplan was all wrong. Both Castillo and Chavez had proven the pressure style could have some succes.

(I also, like the poster above had castillo winning the first fight. And castillo lost the second fight because he seemed to have lost his will to win during the later rounds in the second fight).

Mayweather did his thing perfectly in the Gatti fight.
