    " Boxing Experts "

While reading some threads, some about tyson, some about other issues, I have seen a trend in a way.

This is all opinion based, I myself am absolutly not a boxing expert, I have been following the sport for a less amount of time I am sure than anyone else on these forums, but I just wanted to voice something that bothered me in a way.

While taking a look at some of the prediction trends for fights, I wonder do any of these " experts " really take a look at the big picture of fights.

Why was it such a shock when Winky destroyed trinidad to some of these guys, I knew it was coming. Just by observing the way he fights and thinks could have givin a clue to some people as to why he would win. I agree , I didn't expect such a one sided win, but I did expect a win.

Another fight would have to be, Tyson and Mcbride. I knew Tyson would loose, It was obvious. All of these experts picked tyson because , well , imo, just because it was tyson. I wonder how many of them actually looked at the stats , how tyson was training, how mcbride was training, what really was going to happen in that fight. Now tyson wants to come back and foreman is saying tyson is overmatched. I like Tyson, don't get me wrong, but the guy is done. Overmatched is bull****, Danny williams wasn't an overmatch for tyson. Anyone in the ring who can think/hold/punch/ is now an overmatch for tyson. I can't belive some people are actually going along with it not to mention some people claiming to be " experts ".

Hatton and ZOO, I was predicting a zoo ko in the 3rd. I was wrong, but why, because I didn't do my homework. I didn't see any hatton fights, I just watched zoo and said " that right is gonna make it tough for hatton." I didn't factor in the time, the training , the hunger hatton had, the age, and especially hometown advantage. I choose zoo because I am a fan and because some signs were pointing at him, but who actually sized up hatton and took a look.

I could ramble on about fights like this, and on occasion, " experts" are right , but which of them actually take the time to KNOW they are right, and which of them just go with the big name just because. Anything can happen in boxing, someone can get old, lucky, shot, drugged, ANYTHING, but stopping and taking a look at the big picture rather than taking a guess and giving me a 5 hour speech on a fighter who you know about from the past but didn't actually see train, see how he prepared for the specific fight. I don't mean anyone on these forums or fans in general, I mean proclaimed " experts " who when a fight takes a wrong turn say it was an upset when in reality it was inevitable. I admit am guilty of not doing my homework and getting lucky, but I don't plan for it to be like that always.

This is all just what I think, go ahead and bash me for lack of knowlege and what not, but at the end of the day, I think a lot of these may be more true than most realize.

as for Wright-Trinidad, most of the intelligent posters here knew winky would win a UD. the PR's all thought tito would win because they havent seen much of winky.

as for Tyson-McBride, you are totally right. it was nothing more than a bandwagon, everyone expected mcbride to be another sam scaff.

and tszyu-hatton, i was going for tszyu as well and expected an early ko. Things like this are why boxing is so great though, you never know what's gonna happen next. never can you predict something and be 100% accurate. who knew lujans ear would come off. know what i mean? or who knew freitas would quit like a *****.

I made money with the McBribe and Winky Wright victories. Anyone going with the other two fighters in these matchups was solely going by heart. However, I failed to analyze the Hatton fight at all and did go with my heart on this one.

"experts" and novice fans can be right quite abit. Hell, you got a 50% chance of being right everytime. I've been watching Boxing for 30 years and consider myself fairly knowledgable as it relates to Boxing. Having said that...I'm 2-3 in the last 5 big fights
