Hopefully DLH gives Ike his revenge and a rematch because Ike was somewhat robbed that first fight. DLH never gave him a rematch and instead went on to fight an oh so tough, over the hill Oba Carr.

Quartey by decision because MR Oscar can't deal with strong fighters who keep a jab in his face.

I think their first fight was very close, and Oscar almost had Ike out of it in the 12th. I think that was the deciding factor. I'd like to see them fight again.

Whoe doesnt want to fight De LA Hoya .

His name and the money it brings is just about all De La Hoya brings to the table .

I think he is a over the hill bum.

Yeah, I was hesitant to call it robbery because it was such a close fight and I guess I can see how other people scored it differently. I've just scored it so many times and have come out with 114-113 Quartey so many times that I personally have that locked in my head.

I think I just called it a robbery because DLH was a **** and never gave Ike a rematch.

LOL. Gotcha, I know what you mean. I did the same thing in the Oscar/Shane rematch.

this is true...money is all DLH has anymore, so if Ike is just looking for a really good payday, Oscar would definately be the one to take on. But, does winning a close fight with phillips necessairly mean he's ready for DLH, who has atleast been active over the yr's that Ike's been away??

De La Hoya and Quartey are so Last decade. De La Hoya has lost like 4 of his last 6 bouts. Quartey took quite a beating and was dropped good by Phillips. Screw this mathup.

                De La Hoya retire

                Quartey: rematch Phillips

I don't know why people are taking this negative tone with Ikes win over Verno. That was a very good win for a guy whos in his second fight back from a 5 year layoff.

Verno was a champ at 154 and is always around the top of that division. Hes a tough vet who took guys like Kassim Ouma to the brink.

Ike has a lot of ring rust but in those middle rounds he looked like his old self...and he's always been open to left hooks so nobody should have been surprised that Verno dropped him.

                  Quartey would beat Oscar now.

I'm not necessairly neg. about it..especially if money is all it's about for Ike, cause Oscar is where it's at when it comes to that. If he's looking to improve on his record/career, thats another matter. I agree that Verno is one tough bugger..absolutely, but he's no DLH, and I'm not even a DLH fan! If it's about more than just the money, maybe another warm up fight or two before squaring off with Oscar?? Anyway, I wonder if Oscar would fight him again?? that would be interesting to find out really.
