    Meldrick Taylor vs. Glenwood Brown

Pretty much the last meaningful win of Taylor's career against a quality fighter.

You could see the effects of the wear-and-tear and damage suffered by Taylor, plus the fact that he lacked the size & power he needed at 147, but I liked the fact that he rallied from a poor start to beat a more powerful, and naturally bigger fighter.

I can't believe how many Philly fighters get the accolades and seem to almost always forget about Taylor.

This dude's punch output/speed was sick...

Glenwood Brown's career was almost derailed by a 40+ year old Saoul Mamby who ended his winning streak. He went on another winning streak until losing to Blocker and Taylor in close fights. Good fighter, but he came up short against the best opponents he fought.

Taylor just never had the physicality to stay at the top for long above 140+ lbs. He would have never beaten Norris and probably even Espana.

Agreed. Which is why, Chavez or no Chavez, I always saw a short stay at the top of the sport for Taylor.

I've never seen Glenwood's fight with Blocker. Just read and heard about it.
