    What a shame.

This must me a strong division right?
Yep, kind of like a 220lbs Ali fighting a 180lbs Bob Foster. Or maybe Ali fighting a one-legged, intestine-and-kidney-missing Cleveland Williams. I would take a young super-heavy undefeated Olympic gold-medalist like Povetkin over Ali's competion anyday.

povetkin doesn't get enough credit. he's no bum. especially in his last fight, his combos looked accurate and sharper than ever. he doesn't have the defense to hang with wlad for very long though

Wlad by KO in 8-10. There is no indication that Povetkin has a super-strong chin like Mercer did because he never really fought any big punchers but he did take a lot of punches against Chambers, that would spell disaster against Wlad. Povetkin has the work rate but not the power nor the speed to bother Wlad, he has seen all this before.

Povetkin's biggest strength is going to be his biggest weakness against Wlad. He is a come forward fighter who is not afraid to get tagged. That's playing into Wlad's strength, unbelievable power and accuracy plus strength in a clinch. Wlad will tag Povetkin when he comes in and tie him up on in the inside, ref separates, process starts all over again. Eventually Wlad will land that right cross or left hook that drops Povetkin. I don't think he will knock him down with a jab like he did Chagaev.

The only unknown factor is Povetkin's chin, if he has a chin like the young Brewster and Wlad punches himself out then we can see an upset but Wlad is a lot more conservative these days.

Don't underestimate Povetkin. His amature resume spits on most boxers. I know amature record doesn't mean too much in the pros, but it's still very good.

Good to see Povetkin finally stepping up, I wish the fight was a little earlier, hopefully Wlad can fight 3 times this year.

Yes, I'm hoping Wlad fights again after Povetkin in December.

Three titles and no possiblity of unification! Povetkin will just be another name in the mix of contenders by this time next year.
