If you want to talk skill and boxing IQ its not gonna be hard to find better then Whitaker. The guy had the whole game figured out and the skillwise had no weaknesses.

I will say that Leonard was the most athletically gifted out of the 3, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the most skilled out of the 3.

Whitaker just did not have the power Mayweather has, simple as that. It adds an element to Floyd's offensive arsenal that Pernell lacked. They were equal defensively as far as I am concerned.

This is how I picked Floyd:

Floyd- Mentally hes unmatched. His accuracy, speed, reflexes and his defense are just nasty and they are all rolled into one. He can go from O to D in a split second. He can fight on the inside, fight on the inside, fight off the ropes, center of the ring, he jabs, he goes to the body, he does everything GREAT.

His defense is mastered in all aspects. He does the shoulder roll extremely well. He can make people miss with reflexes and head movement extremely well. He can be thisclose to you and you'll still miss him. He has good defense on the ropes. He ha so many different styles. Every Floyd fight is different.

Floyd is just an amazing fighter. The most skilled Ive ever seen.

I think the competition is close to a wash but I guess you could give the nod to Whitaker. JMO of course but I feel that Pea and Floyd each got hit cleanly so rarely that you could call it a wash but again, if you prefer Pea's style of defense which was to duck and dodge every punch in the pocket as opposed to Floyd's deflecting shots with elbows and shoulders, so be it.

Regardless, Pea could not have fought Shane Mosley, even that older, tired version of Shane, in the same fashion as Floyd. He just didn't have the firepower.

Wilfredo Benitez was the best. He only trained 1 week against Leonard and still was able to hold his own. However, Leonard had superior speed. But, technically, Benitez ruled.
