Comments Thread For: Fuentes May Soon Earn a Shot at Wonjongkam's Belt

Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight champion Rocky Fuentes (26-6-2, 6 KO’s) may soon earn a title shot at the WBC crown currently held by Thai veteran Pongsaklek Wonjongkam or at the very least figure in a title eliminator. [Click Here To Read More]

Id prefer a Kameda rematch or an Narvaez fight. Fuentes shouldnt even be in the same ring as Pong. Hes too unproven and doesnt even deserve the shot.

Ronnie is hopefully full of crap as always. A shot against Wonjongkam would be a huge step back for the champion, who used to routinely defend against second-rate opposition like Fuentes. Hopefully Wonjongkam will fight the best in his second reign, guys like Fuentes

        Very unlikely they'll come off.

I don't think Fuenets is that bad, but obviously there's guys I'd rather see him fight.

He'd dominate Naito now if the fifth fight comes off and after that he'd most likely have to fight Sosa.

It would make Wonjongkam look better if Miranda is able to pick up the WBO belt.

Not ****ting on Fuentes per se, but Wonjongkam fought a lot of dogs in title defenses and I would like to see him fight top guys in his second reign.
I agree with you on Naito. He should beat him easily.
Re: Miranda. It was a nice win for Wonjongkam. But titles are dime a dozen these days, so I am not sure how much it means if Miranda wins a vacant belt. In terms of his win, it would have said a lot more about Wonjongkam if Mthalane hadn't likewise outpointed Miranda seven months later.
