    Yordanis Despaigne. Future champ.

This is one of the lesser known cubans. He has wins over Andre Dirrell and Jean Pascal in the amateurs. Also had a very close fight with matvey korobov in the amateurs, it was a war. Also had a close fight with Genady Golovkin in the amateurs. Despaigne is now 6-0(4kos) and in his last fight took a fight on a weks notice against heavy handed, but limited journeyman southpaw Richard Hall, Despaigne handled him with ease, dominating the fight winning a 10 round UD winning every round on all three judges scorecards. He's not as flashy as the other cubans, but is very strong, has heavy hands, throws very sharp VERY accurate combinations. with very solid handspeed also. and isn't defensive specialist, but has very solid D. He's pretty under the radar compared to the other Cubans. But i feel he's still an elite talent. a thing to look at also, he took the fight with Hall on 1 weeks notice, but looked to be in very good shape. which does say he is takinghis career seriusly and is training pretty consistently. i'd expect to see this guy to be holding atleast 1 belt by the end of 2011. He fights in the light heavyweight division. check him out.

In which competition did he beat Dirrell?

I thought they only fought once in the Olympics, which Dirrell won.

It's very possible that they fought twice though.

EDIT: It was the Pan-America games.

What you meant to say is that Golovkin and Korobov beat him.

I was suprised to find out he turned pro at LHW. In the amateurs he looked quite skinny at 166lbs. He is talented and i am suprised he hasn't got much attention. Despaigne and Sillakh should both be players at LHW in a year or so.

I forgot to add that, but they were still pretty damn close fights either way. And i agree. sillakh is very skilled also.
