As soon as Cotto dropped him he didn't even count because he new Yuri couldn't do anything so pulled him out. Explain how that's a farce, if it was you in the ring would it have been such a farce ?

Most fighters wants to continue no matter what. And some of them even die before they would give up.
If the corner wants to stop the fight, they know whats going on, why do you have to insist to continue?

It's serious enough to prevent the guy from fighting. can be VERY painful. If the tear isn't too far gone, the surgeon can "pare" it back to eliminate the tear. OR.....scoop out the cartilage until the whole tear is eliminated.

In the old days, it was "take away" the whole cartilage, wear an elastic "sleeve" over the knee, and have an ambulatory problem for the rest of your life

I've had a "paring" treatment, for the same thing,...... twice.

@PRBOXINGCOTTO U said that to the ***ish fans? What about everyone else? And BTW, if we wanna get like that, the filipinos told the PRs that Pac would smash Cotto and he did, and he would do it again at 154, and he would. And so would the American Floyd Mayweather Jr. This thread was about Yuri's knee, not your opinion of him as a champion or race.

I agree. Get on the topic PRBOXINGCOTTO. Even I am a Filipino, I still admire Cotto's physical and mental toughness. Though, yes, he got smashed by PAC. For Foreman, I wish for your speedy recovery.. Hope to see you fight, but please not again the biggest names in boxing..

Cartalige tear isn't a big surgery, i have had a 7 cartalige repairs amongst other more serious injuries.
It's a key hole precedure, if they just shave it off you can be back in 2-3 weeks, if they repair it then you're lookin at 3 months on crutches.

Very painful when it is torn and if it becomes displaced it is agony and very debilitating

Yuri is the man, whatever he lacks in talent, he makes up for in heart. Mercante did a great job, he allowed Yuri to go out on his own terms, like a warrior.

Ouch! I have torn my miniscus and my anterior cruciate ligament playing footie some years ago. Hurt like f.uck and couldnt walk for three months. I am sure he will get the best treatment going, maybe even go to Dr.Steadman in Colorado. I wish him a speedy recovery, all the best.

Maybe things would have changed later on, when Cotto would have started running for his life after round 9.
