    Pascal any good?

Chad dawson is one of my favorite fighters and I have a chance to see him in quebec for his august 14th fight since I should be in canada that week. Is pascal any good, how bad did he lose to froch and is he really the second best fighter at 175 like espn says he is?

    He's aight. I wouldn't say he's the 2nd best at 175.

Going by his last fight, stylistically, iwould say he is the light heavy Meldrick Taylor/Timothy BRadley.

in the since that he can box or brawl and at times his heart may get the better of him and he'll go all out when he probably shouldn't. The styles are very similar as well.

I personally really like him and wouldn't be surprised if he wins just because he still puts on a strong performance late in the fight and Chad Dawson's Achilles heel is the later rounds when he seems to slow down, or just get "bored".

Great fight, a real pick'em imo.

Very good fighter. He has a world class chin, good skill, can dig a bit and is exciting to watch. He can box very well, but he seems to like a tear up. Tough fight for Dawson,I wouldnt be surprised if Pascal won.

          agreed.

I would say pascal could easily be #2 at lhw, but who knows because no one but glen johnson ever fights in that division.

He's got good skills, heart, fast hands and good reflexes, but I think he makes too many mistakes that hold him back. He has a tendency to pull straight back with his hands down, leaving himself open defensively.

He seems to get stunned often, but manages to pull through. I think given his natural abilities, he should be more disciplined and box more, as he seems to get dragged into wars and I think he's too eager to square up and exchange and since he's not very good defensively, he gets hit.

The loss to Froch wasn't that bad, I think my card was 116-112 for Froch. It was a pretty close give and take fight going into the later stages of the fight, but Froch had more in the tank and pulled it out. Froch used his jab well and was able to control Pascal a bit. I heard that he had some trouble making 168, which is why he moved up permanently to 175 after the fight.

All in all, he's a good, exciting fighter.

feel most who havent kept up with pascal don't know he's a different boxer since he fought carl froch at super mw.
since going up to lightwt his game and power has improved immencely.
IMO diaconu who pascals beat twice would bitchslap chad dawson around.

dawson looks good with his high work rate against old man tarver
and two wins against old gentleman johnson.
sheesh think about it chad fans! i thinks its shortsighted
                  gauging dawsons worth on those!

dawson is in genuine trouble here. this is the bout i've been waiting for.
                  i see a FOTY here.

Excelent post, all you need to know about Pascal.

Also he's a reflex type fighter like a Casamayor or Jones Jr.,when those are gone he will be gone cuz his fundamentals are lacking.
But he is one exciting fighter.
