Don't tell them nothing, Sergio Martinez should come back down in weight and give it to Cotto... I was rooting for Cotto because I knew no boxer with 8 Kos was going to beat him, but he did get stunned a couple of times... Cotto looked very slow at 154...and his right hand is a joke at anything above 140...

LMAO at the one guy comparing the beating Cotto took against Pac to the one on saturday night
ahhahaa
I was yelling at the TV and my girl thought I lost my mind
I think its awful that the ref disregarded the towel and made him continue to fight
He might have just cost Yuri his boxing career
that was a piss poor job by the ref.
Cotto looked better than before but he stil gets his ass handed to him by Martinez and Williams
I think he should fight Angulo but then again Angulo might send him to sleepComment

Foreman fought like a bum. All he has is his foot work and that plan went out the window when he ****kked up his knee and couldn't run around the ring anymore. He never hurt Cotto cause he doesn't have the power.... Foreman was overrated from the Get go.
The only reason why he got soooo much attention from the media is because the dude has a nice personality, slightly good looking and is ***ISH. Bob Arum needs to see a replay of this fight cause it was no way near an even fight. The only reason Foreman blew his knee was from all the running he was doing in the ring trying to avoid Cotto's power punches.
Am convinced that they put Santos to fight Foreman at the very last minute so Foreman would have the edge on him as far as training and conditioning was concerned. Santos only had 5 weeks to prepare for this fight. It was all a plot to get Foreman the championship cause Santos fought like an out of shape bum. Whateverzzzzz Cotto won by TKO.... Thats all we need to know....Last edited by Machingo69; 06-07-2010, 12:50 PM.Comment

To be honest I didnt really appreciate this writers style....He seemed a little condescending towards the hispanic culture like someone already mentioned. He almost seems mad in this article...
Also I did not see Cotto get hurt at all... Idk what fight you guys were watching, just because he backs up to get away from the punches doesn't mean he got hurt... They hit each other almost simultaneously with hard hooks at one point and Cotto didnt even blink...
And Whoever says cotto was scared of margarito is a fool. I dont understand how people expect ANYONE to fight Margarito after the fact that they found plaster in his wraps. That just seems disrespectful to the sport of boxing...Idk, I guess I must be crazy to agree with Cotto (or anyone) for not fighting a cheater...and No one is "saying" that Pac was scared of Yuri, but he it was Roach HIMSELF who said that Yuri was too tall, that was not made up. However, YOU are saying that Cotto is scared and THAT is untrue. Cotto has been adamant about not fighting Margarito from the get go, and has clearly stated that his decision is based on the fact that Margarito was caught with plaster, NOT that he was scared.Comment

AND I do not recall the crowd booing at all at any point in this fight...so idk why the writer said this...I might be wrong, but Im positive it was not because of lack of action as the writer made it seem.Comment

That was a sickening display on Sat. Cotto was basically fighting a guy with one leg and it took 9 rounds to put him away. Oh and Formean came in with a ****ed-up leg into the fight, it didn't just happen during the fight, so basically he lasted that long with one leg. I want to see Foreman get surgery on it and come back and have a rematch, only then Cotto can take credit for this win. Pathetic...
What's more pathetic is the bias the US media shows for some fighters where even the most pathetic displays are covered up/masqueraded as something great or honorable. Every news story about this fight would have us believe that Cotto just had some great victory, while in reality if you saw the fight and you weren't Puerto Rican, his opponent could not even throw a punch without the fear of that leg buckling on him (and it did when he pivoted on it). I think Foreman came in with a torn meniscus and a torn MCL or ACL in that knee, which makes you useles in any sport but especially in boxing. I am thinking he didn't want to blow the biggest payday of his life. That was sickening to see Ledderman and Max Kellerman try to make it sound like it was some great battle, Roy was alright in that respect.
Kind of reminds me when Arreola came in fat and out of shape against Vitaly, got beaten to a bloody pulp, quit on his stool, cried like a beotch after the fight and then HBO had the audacity to call him a "warrior". Not to mention the backroom interview he did where he later claimed that Vitaly "ran" and "made feminine sounds every time I hit him", when he was the one that looked and acted like a bloody vagina.
Nobody ever called Sam Peter a warrior in the same situation, and he never even cried. Just shows you the obivious preferential treatment some fighters enjoy (Cotto, Arreola) simply because the networks are afraid of alienating a certain fan demographic.Comment

Oh, and I am not criticizing Cotto, he did what he had to do. But I don't give him any credit for this win and neither should anyone else.Comment

RJFO, Hallaq, and Nota Loka:
Thanks for the comments. I think you're reading too much into it -- but you definitely deserve an explanation. I've got very eclectic musical tastes. My first career was managing music stores, and my collection ranges through various genres and nations because of this.
That said, I did not recognize the song being played. As at least two of you are from Puerto Rico, I'm sure it'd be easier for you to recognize the musician. I'd admit more to being ignorant here than to being insensitive, though in this case I think the ignorance should be forgiven.
What I was trying to establish in the "nothing worth noting" was that it didn't seem as if Cotto needed his music to amp him up in the way that Foreman seemed to need it. Cotto had this calm look on his face, the same confidence he always has, due to his pedigree and experience. Foreman looked uneasy from the early rounds -- he had never been in with anyone like Cotto before.
I don't get angry at one fighter winning instead of another fighter -- I don't have that kind of investment in the outcome. My only hope is for there to be a good story from the fight that I can tell.
I apologize that the way I phrased it came off the way it did. Thank you for reading, and, again, thank you for your comments.Comment
