    Cotto-Foreman: Post Fight Notes.

So who actually threw that towel? Was it really the corneran? Either way the ref made a good decision and was well informed, Mercante Jr. knew what he had to do.

It was refreshing to see Cotto back to what he used to be, seeing him on his toes a lot more than in his recent fights almost makes him look like if he was a different, albeit better fighter. Cotto has a chin, his kryptonite comes from fighters that fight him in volume.

No doubt Foreman has heart, probably his biggest asset. He may not be a great fighter but he gave Cotto a good test at 154lbs.

Something needs to be done about corners and the water spilled, because we've already seen too many fighters slip and injure themselves, just as we saw in last nights fight and the Dirrell-Abraham fight. Either there needs to be stricter rules regarding the cleanliness of the corner, that or advertisements need to be reformatted so that accidents don't happen because of them.

I agree with the excessive water/slipping

thing is..the corner was already extremely wet before Cotto-Foreman even started..so who will they penalize?..

But I've noticed too many people slipping..Clottey, Dirrell, and Foreman..

The fighter who's corner it is. That way in order for them to make sure they keep it clean, they need to know that they're risking their fighter the bout if they don't keep it clean and safe.

They should really think about maybe having different material in those corners that doesn't absorb water to prevent those types of incidents.

I guess in defense of the trainer, it was in the best interest of Foreman and his safety. Yuri was lucky though, to get a second chance.

Foreman didn't slip when he fell down for the first time, if you watched the fight you'll notice that his right knee completely gave out (his foot was flat on the canvas, and did not slip)

However, he did slip later during the fight

Yeah, I meant the actual slip in the corner. It injured him quite a bit, which was the point I was trying to make. Maybe he would've been able to last a little longer if he didn't get hurt.
