    Lamon Brewster: Hardest-Hitting Current Heavyweight?

Just got the new issue of Boxing Monthly (July 2005; on sale in the US for $6.95 - see www.boxingmonthly.co.uk) and it's a great read this month, packed full of stuff.

Tyson's final bout, the Hatton-Zoo affair, a nice article on Sam Peter, a Hopkins-Taylor preview ("The Eastman fight looked like a dance between two old men" - Taylor's promoter), a piece on Charley Burley, the best ever British wins and more.

However, one particular article stood out - a feature on 1 round KOs in the heavyweight division and Lamon Brewster's demolition job on Golota.

In interview extracts Brewster claims "I am, if not one of the top two, I am the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division and no man has ever, ever stood in front of me."

Brewster the hardest hitter or top two in the division? True...?

The iron chinned Cliff Etienne also stood in front of him for 10 rounds.

Wlad Klitschko is a harder puncher.

Sam Peter is a harder puncher.

        Hasim Rahman is harder puncher.

        David Tua is harder puncher.

Calvin Brock may be a harder puncher.

Vitali Klitschko is probably a harder puncher.

etienne has so much glass in his chin, he could be used to make a glass house.

but yes, he also went the distance with brewster.

Agree on most, but definitely not Calvin Brock..

But than again, we don't know much about Brewster... The fact that he KOed Wlad who was barely standing on an empty gas tank and that Brewster wildly KOed Golota, other than Golota has 0 defence technique and a weak chin, that doesn't prove anything!

            But lets see....

golota's chin isnt weak, but its not very strong. IMO golota's chin is average.

Tua and Peter both hit hard, but i doubt either hits as hard as Brewster. You may not see it now but continue to watch him, he is a totally different fighter while motivated. Funny you put Wlad 1st after they went head to head with Wlad being KO'd

... to continue the quote, he goes on to say "... Even my losses. Etienne would just hit me and go into his little shell, and Charles Shufford just ran all night. But no man has ever stood in front of me, and I knew Golota wouldn't, because I punch too hard."
