The return of boxing to Yankee Stadium last night was much anticipated, and I think that one thing we can all agree on is that it was a good fight and a great night for boxing.
The fight, and Foreman TBH, got a lot of positive press and after a spirited match-up, Foreman showed that he had some pretty big cajones for continuing on with that knee injury in the fact of a dedicated and focused Miguel Cotto, who came to win and looked improved under Steward.
Mercante's refereeing could be considered foolish or commendable, depending on what your opinion is, but in the end, the fighters embraced, were positive, and the crowd seemed to be excited and positive as well. Foreman definitely gained a lot of fans last night for his courage, myself included.
