Where are you getting your number 40 from? I can post you a article right now that states he only made 20 to 25 million from the Mosley fight.

Floyd likes to exaggerate his numbers.

If you take out everything he paid to trainers, managers, taxes, GBP maybe he made that at the end which is still pretty good.

There is no way Floyd made only an extra 3.5m pre-taxes off 1.4m in PPV sales.

You're right, but you forget that Mayweather had just done 1.1M PPV buys with a guy Pac did 400K with a year earlier. And when you look at their common opponents, Mayweather has outdrawn Pac at a 2:1 clip with them. So even with the higher buyrate with Cotto, Pac was in no position to ask for more than 50/50. By walking away from the table and letting Mayweather reestablish his PPV dominance, Pac relinquished his lone upperhand in the negotiations. So of course now those the old terms are acceptable to Pac because he and his team knows that they have nothing to back them getting anything better, Mayweather does.

He got paid a $22.5m guarantee, PPV on top, sponsorship on top, so it was around $40m.
