What is it? A whole week now that they have aired the special on the Scottland death invovling George Khalid Jones? It is a nice special, but it is a big black eye for the sport and they air it everyday about 3 times a day...again, it is a good segment...well produced...maybe I am being heartless...
what is ESPN doing?

I dont think that it should be assumed that it is a black eye on the sport, in fact as sick as this may sound it creates even more intrigue for the sport.
In Nascar peope love the wrecks, they love the ugly side of the sport and in boxing Im sure many people get a reality check in terms of what a boxer's job description really is which is beat the **** out of the other guy-yes once an a while death is part of the job description.
I came home yesterday evening and my wife was sitting on the couch and she said "who's George Jones?" I laughed and said you saw the special huh, and she started asking me all sorts of questions about Jones and Scottland and if George Jones was a real contender or not.
I told her he was fighting here in a few days and I dont think she will miss it. She was extrememly saddened by the story but for some reason it sparked incredible interest with her...it was certainly no black eye in the eyes of my wife who in no way is a violent little lady.
So is it another black eye for boxing...I tend to go the other way if that makes any sense?Comment
