He was avoiding cotto's shots and he was hitting cotto with counters.....It was a close fight.....boxing is not about being flashy, it's about avoiding getting hit and hitting your opponent....

Good fight for my boy cotto should help in continuing to boost his confidence for challenges ahead.

But I'm hating all the dumb ***s in here talking about how Yuri has no skills and how him showing heart is somehow irrelevant since he, after all, wasn't winning.

The guy is a pro fighter. Read that again; A pro fighter. Nobody said he is the next coming of SRR or that he has an exciting style. But you got to respect his effort. He was doing what he could using HIS style and never looked for a way out despite taking some sizzling shots along with a gimp leg. He still engages and though he is constantly moving it isnt exactly running in the style of other fighters. but I guess all u bad azz Internet tough guys are all pro fighters since according to some of you, you could have no skills and get a fight against cotto at y's stadium. I realize the whole ***ish story line doesn't hurt him but don't discredit this dude as a boxer.

Yuri does not have a style I enjoy watching. He did prove to me tonight though that a fight in which he is involved is worth watching because he will leave it all in the ring. When someone is willing to do that you never know what will happen. And isnt that after all what we ask from our pro athletes?
