It really doesn't matter if this retirement is true or not. Mayweather just shot himself on the foot on this one. It certainly did not help his image one bit.

He came from a few days a go, a hero for doing a good deed for this kid, to being called the biggest chicken ever.

It would have been better if he didn't grant the wish to this kid, to save himself from this embarrassment.
