My take on why Floyd's going away maybe for good:

He gets no respect or appreciation whatever he does:

The p4p #2 was not decided by Floyd Mayweather, the critics, the media, the fans decided Marquez should be the p4p #2 which means he should be the #2 p4p fighter on the planet. Floyd fights him albeit outside his best weight (like Pacquiao fought Hoya but that was awesome, anyway moving on) and completely dominates him with skills and quickness, not size or strength. Floyd gets no credit whatsoever.

Then Floyd is accused of ducking real welterweights (like he's a natural WW) and he fights the p4p #3, the real welterweight champion everyone accused him of ducking (in reality it was shane who ducked Foyd in the late 90's but nvm, don't let facts stop you). He dominates Shane like he did Marquez and hurting Shane more than any welterweight was able, ever. Still he gets no credit.

The final slap in Floyd's face was awarding Manny Pacquiao the fighter of the decade award when it was Floyd who dominated the p4p ranks for most of the decade. Floyd was KOing undefeated p4p KO artists like Corrales and beating twice one of the best LW of our era in Castillo when Pacquiao was scoring draws and losing to Morales... That's an huge slap on the face to at least don't wait till they fight.

So Floyd said "**** them. I know what they want, my 0. And even if i beat Pacquiao which seems likely (to me too), they would still give me no credit".

That's why Floyd hates the boxing industry and the people who run it. I hate them too for trying to fabricate "legendary" fighters like the entertainment industry fabricates "good" singers.

Imho, I thought that was why he retired the first time...The media! I mean, almost every interview Floyd did after a fight, he got no respect from the person giving the interview (Larry).

    So is history repeating itself?

Retiring because the media hates you? So instead of fighting/beating the guys you're supposed to in order to prove them wrong, he retires? That crybaby status right there! Can you imagine Lebron trying to pull that **** after he got tore up by the media this year?

i'm glad you don't let facts stop you. reality is a tough place to live in. floyd-land where fighting old and tiny fighters and fake retiring to avoid prime fighters is looked upon as greatness.

Floyd only cares about his 0 and his money.

He bitched us all by seeming like he was gonna fight Pac but just earnt a lot of millions, enough to retire again.

He used Pac's name to get hype, and people wanted to see how he was VS Mosely as an indication for Pac.

If he truly retires then he is a ***** in my eyes for trying to sell the fight.

As for recognition, he was P4P 1 for a long time. He gets paid millions.

JMM may have been P4P 2, but at 147?

Then Mosely had a long lay off and was pretty tried looking quite early.

Again, if he had fought any top Welter over Hatton/JMM he would hve got fighter of the decade for me. Retiring ****ed him up
