Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather Jr. To Leave Boxing or Pulling a Swerve?

So after almost losing a decision to a washed up De La Hoya, he fights Hatton with the help of an official (ensuring Hatton could never spend more than 2 seconds in a clinch).
Instead of rematching De La Hoya, or fighting the then white-hot Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito, he retires. Thus, a genuine series of ducks.
He returns to the ring and fights a decent tuneup against a completely out-of-his-element JMM. He finally agrees to fight Sugar Shane, but only because he's now 39 years old. Still, before SSM was gassed, he was losing the fight.
Now in the face of fighting Pacquiao, the greatest fighter of this generation, he has come up with every reason to delay or push him away. First the drug testing demands, which Pacquiao agrees to. Now the "I may take some time off" comment, despite having just returned for two easy fights that did nothing for his legacy. He'll come back to fight Pac when Pac has taken a year off politicking and is no longer in prime fighting shape.
Oh, and he definitely won't fight either Williams or Martinez. Both are huge, quick, defensive, and awkward. It's not that Floyd isn't good enough, but the sheer physical mechanics of those propositions would destroy him.

If he retires, so be it. But isn't this the same cat who was reporting that Mayweather was gonna fight Saul Alvarez, then it was Matthew Hatton, and then it was Nate Campbell? Of course, Money ended up seeking out the #3
P4P fighter in the world. People get sooooooooo excited over nothing. Personally, I get the impression that the majority of the *******s would rather the fight not happen, and simply scream "Mayweather ducked" than seeing their boy in a fight he probably can't win.

I really don't care anymore. This Floyd-Manny thing has been talked to death. So has Haye versus Wlad/Vitali. Neither one seems likely to ever happen.

It is posturing. It wasnt long ago that Bob Arum said "im not sure Pacquiao will ever fight again".
Floyd wont take 2 years off. That is basically retiring for good at this stage in his career and at his age.
Ronnie Nathanielsz brings shame to both Pacquiao fans AND boxingscene. He is completely ******ed and just willing to spread worthless propaganda.
PUNKING OUT has become Boy's M.O.!!!
