I never get the point of Weigh ins

they always do them a day before the fight, so that means a fighter can gain extra baggage and weight.... i mean for mma.. brock lesnar comes in at 265, but fight night he comes around 280-290

why dont they just do it right before the fight.....

Welcome to Boxing newbie. They used to do it the day of the fight. Changed it to make less chance of boxers being dehydrated on fight night.

They changed it because of health risks.

Most guys dont drink water and cut alot of weight. Its too dangerous.

If they did it beofre the entrances then they wouldnt be able to make weight considering they'd be re-hydrated already.

I guess it depends where's the fight. Some country have the weigh in on the same day of the fight.

Somebody could die if they did it the day of the fight. Fighters dehydrate themselves for the weigh-in.

I have to be an *******, cause your comments are that of a newbie, or someone lacking cranial capacity.

The guys new to the sport so explaining it to him would be good. It was made the day before because fighters were cutting too much weight and it was unhealthy. However changing it has allowed fighters who would have campained in higher divisions starve and rrehydrate so they can fight smaller weaker guys.
