So Who Has Seen Yuri Foreman Fight?

I'm looking at his record and I'm just wondering who on the board has seen him fight or know his style well? I'm wondering is he another Paulie Malignaggi, all jab all the time, no real punching power?

Is it similar to Cory Spinks, a good boxer, mover, no power but clearly has two hands with he uses with good effect?

    Is Foreman a combination puncher?

I know he is a bigger guy than Cotto, probably stronger, but who can break his style down and what will he do to be effective against Cotto?

I think most people, myself included, have only seen his fight against Santos. I'm not sold on his total lack of power, I think he can punch a bit, he dropped Santos twice if I remember correctly, but I don't think he has any killer instinct and isn't anywhere near a 1 punch guy. I can't remember enough about the fight to tell you the details of his style, but he isn't as one handed as Malignaggi

He has quick feet that keep him going all night long he's a two handed fighter and altough he has not top notch power he has more power then you think (he dropped Santos twice)

He also fought many elite fighters at Amateur level.

I think he will beat Cotto cause he is really quick on his feet (maybe the quickest Cotto has ever boxed, after Pac of course)

I've seen him fight atleast 4 times, or maybe more... I have 1 word to described his style........ BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can watch floyd, spinks, ect. box.... thats not boring to me, but this dude... is just Jab... circle the ring, jab jab, circle the ring for 12 rds.. I'd rather watch paulie than this dude but hopefully cotto can corner him and make him exchange

Most of the fights I've seen even the commentators were talking about how boring his fights are

I've seen him quite a few times. He's a good boxer, a good mover who has had enough power to earn the respect of his opponents so far. His fights are far from exciting because he doesn't take any risks and none of his opponents have been able to get to him. I'm not sure how he will do against a top class opponent yet, as Santos seemed to be all but shot, but the Cotto fight will likely answer the questions about the effectiveness of his style on top level and his ability to take a punch.

I think his style is difficult for anyone to look good against, because he can keep moving for 12 rounds and thus far has shown himself very focused on not getting hit while doing enough to win the rounds. What Cotto needs to do is cut off the ring and break his body down if he wants to look impressive. Otherwise it could end up being a dull 12 rounder that could go either way. We will see.

He had a good right hand in the fight against moore. he throws rights without jabbing at times.

So if Foreman was to have his way it will be a boring fight, I'm thinking Cotto is so slow and plodding that I can see how a quicker guy with a stiff jab would be able to keep him at bay all night. Thats probably the plan...I dont think Emmanuel Steward will be an asset to Cotto, I mean Manny's greatest success seems to come with tall guys with good jabs, namely Hearns, Klits, even Vivian Harris for a moment.

With all the experience Steward has training tall fighters with good jabs, he should probably know how to deal with them too. Steward did help McCall to KO Lennox Lewis, Pryor to beat Arguello in the rematch and Holyfield to beat Rid**** Bowe. However his long-term successes are with Hearns, Wladimir and Lennox Lewis.

Yep! that's most likely how the fight will go, unless cotto can cut the ring off & get to his body.. I think thats his only chance
