Obviously not on that level and will never be on that level of consistently creating exciting fights but he's got some under his belt already and is always exciting to watch.
Could Michael Katsidis become the modern Arturo Gatti

I've never thought highly of that oft-hyped comparison. Gatti was Gatti, and Katsidis is Katsidis. It's unfair on both of them to draw comparisons - the legendary Gatti doesn't need anyone being compared to him, and Kats doesn't need such lofty expectations on his shoulders. He's his own man.
In short, it's getting old.Last edited by PittyPat; 06-04-2010, 11:00 AM.Comment

Very much so. But that all depends on whether Marquez can shed off some of his age and get past Diaz convincingly - he didn't exactly make it easy on himself the first time.
Regardless, I reckon Kats beats 'em both. :box2: Can't wait to make some bets.Comment

I tend to think of Katsidis as a brawler and pressure fighter by nature, while Gatti was more of a boxer who always ended up getting drawn into brawls, and often got the better of them with his punching power, size and heart.
There is a comparison of course, both are exciting to watch, but stylistically they're not entirely similar and as PittyPat said Katsidis is his own man.Comment

Nah. Vann is just a corrupt bastard and overruled the corner's decision, which could've been deadly if Earl hadn't have landed that counter.
Good thing he did throw it back out, though. We would've been denied another great 3½ rounds!Comment
