Comments Thread For: Foreman vs. Cotto: More Questions Than Answers

By Ryan ******** - A blind man could tell the difference between Yuri Foreman and Miguel Cotto.

    Literally.

One only needs use of his ears to see the cultural divide between the current junior-middleweight champ Foreman and former 140 and 147 pound kingpin Miguel Cotto as they worked out for the press at New York City's Trinity Boxing Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Foreman, 29, of Brooklyn, NY by way of Belarus, preferred to skip rope and joke casually with media to the sounds of Black Sabbath and AC/DC. [Click Here To Read More]

Thank you. This is a 50/50 fight really, no matter how you look at it. Foreman has all the tools to pull of the upset but none of the experience to be a sure bet. Cotto has all the heart and skill but has a lot of wear and tear.

Whoever is closer to their prime on Saturday will win.

I agree as well, Foreman is a big guy and seems like the kind of guy that will give Cotto problems. I feel that if Cotto cannot hurt Foreman he's in big trouble mentally again. I personally think that the rumors about sparring could very well be true, it would seem less likely had Cotto never quit or been exposed in other fights as a guy who runs and shells up under pressure. Even with Zab we seen what he does when he gets shook and feels he cannot hurt his man, he hits low runs or goes into survival mode, that and these rumors combined with Foremans size and movement make me believe he could very well beat Cotto down over 10 rounds.

Cotto had trouble down the stretch at welter, and Foreman can go down the stretch. I also feel Foreman will win this, but maybe Cotto will turn back the clock. Interesting fight.

I never knew Cotto had a problem with boxers. I knew he had problems with pressure fighters and big punchers. Yuri is not a pressure guy he going to try to box Cotto and try to find his range. Cotto is going to chase him all over the ring cut it off corner him and unload like always. The only thing Yuri got is height that it Cotto has faced better boxer then Yuri. If Yuri was 5'8 everybody would think very deffrent. I got Cotto by UD/ late KO8rd

Emmanuel Steward even said that he feels Cotto has traditionally done well with boxer-types. Guys like Malignaggi, Jennings and Branco.
