Lacy vs. Pemberton....after this weekend this fight has even more appeal

After watching Omar Shieka fight as good as he has in a long time (maybe ever) against a good opponent I found myself constantly thinking about LAcy v. Pemberton. Scotty has proved that Shieka can't beat him, Shieka could not handle his power later in both fights...Shieka faded badly! Pemberton has proven that he gets more dangerous as the fight goes...on Saturday even though Shieka didn't fade horribly he still started to fade. Would it be different against SB? If I was Scott Pemberton I would be calling out Jeff Lacy every ****in day...I don't want to say Lacy looked bad on Saturday because he didn't but this was a guy that he probably should have been able to take out and couldn't...If Pemberton gets a shot is there anyone out there who likes him in a fight with Lacy....I still think LAcy would win but there would be a lot of fireworks...it is becoming very clear that LAcy will never be in a bad fight, never.

Yeah, I'd have to go with Lacy against Pemberton. I wondered if alot of that had to do with Scotty just 'having his number'. Every fighter seems to have that one guy that they have trouble with...Forrest-Mosley, DLH-Mosley, Jones-Tarver, hell, maybe even Gatti-Ward. Its a thought, anyway.

Pemberton probably has a shot with his power but I think it will be just the same as Lacy's fight with Sheika. I haven't seen much of Pemberton but from what I heard he has good power and Sheika made Lacy back up a few times in thier fight. He also shook him pretty good in the second or third round.

I was honestly asking myself why Scott wasn't in their instead of Omar. He beat Omar and he deserved a shot first. I think Jeff KO's him inside of 8 but I still think it would be an OK fight. Jeff did look off Saturday night. I have never seen him look so lathargic. I think fighting 2 mos after his war with VAnderpool was a mistake just like Zab fighting right after he fought Spinks. I was surprised that Omar stunned Jeff in the second though. Jeff was seriously stunned and if he fights a heavier puncher he might have shown a weakness. Either way it was a good fight.

He didnt look as good as he could have for sure. But, I'm glad to see him actually BOXING for a change; I remember when he use to fight on Fox Sports Net in the Sunday Night Fights and he always relied too much on that left hook. He came close to getting outpointed many times cause of that.

I can't disagree with that but isn't that the same thing we all would have said with Shieka...and yet it didn't even come close to happening.

I disagree. Jeff didn't look any worse than he did in his fight against Vanderpool, and the fight game needs champions to be more active. Also, Jeff just got caught with a good punch. It happens to the best of us every once in a while, and it doesn't mean that his chin is weak at all. Just means Sheika has a good, sneaky right hand.

I think Lacy wins that fight , but Scotty deserves the chance to prove us wrong.
