This is ****** and wrong.It was frazier who spent years avoiding a fight a fresh,non-rusty version of Ali.He ducked Ali despite Ali clearing out the division of all top contenders and only took a rematch after Ali's struggles with former sparring partner Ken Norton.


After Ali easily beat frazier in the rematch,he went on to regain his title and unlike frazier,didn't spend years avoiding another encounter where he would once again decisively beat frazier.



frazier wasn't even the second best heavyweight of his era.His two greatest wins came over two heavyweight coming off a long layoff and he spent his entire career cherry picking and avoiding virtually every puncher of his generation.

He was over his pre exile weight in that fight. Ali did not really take Frazier seriously in this fight. He was out of shape, was clowning around during the fight with unnecessary shuffles and taunts etc..
Frazier did not pound Ali into the dust. Ali took everything Frazier had that night and came back firing in toe toe-toe fashion. The fight was actually quite close on the scorecards. Also Ali's reflexes, stamina and dancing longevity had diminished after he came back from exile. It could clearly be seen in the quarry fight. Also you should pay close attention to some of the things Howard Cosell said regarding the physical condition of Ali.

I have watched the fight and Ali won an easy 12 round UD. Ali was dancing and sharpshooting with clean effective punches throughout the fight, while frazier was hitting thin air most of the time. Ali also effectively blocked Frazier's left hand using his gloves. Although he couldn't get back his reflexes, stamina and dancing longevity he learnt from the mistakes he made in the first frazier fight.

Great post. Exactly the way I saw it. Before Ali's exile he couldn't be touched by any fighter. His reflexes and boxing skills were such that it made other fighters seem like they were fighting in slow motion. In pre 1967 I venture to say that neither George Foreman, Joe Frazier, nor Kenny Norton would have been able to win against Ali. He was that good and fast. So fast that in his words he could "turn off the light switch and be in bed before the room went dark". But you're right, 3 years away from the game took away his reflexes and dancing skills so he had to resort to not moving so much and he got hit more. Smokin' Joe Frazier still hold grudges against Ali to this day and people say it's because of Ali's taunts against him during the thrilla in Manila. But I say it's because Frazier just can't stand the fact that 98% of the boxing and non boxing public loves Ali and holds him to great esteem and hardly anyone at all remembers him.

The first time frazier fought a puncher he was on the floor six times in two rounds.

Your a very adamant fan, or rather not a fan of Pacquiao in particular, and that's all fine and dandy - but what does Pacquiao cheating on his wife have anything to do with drugs (I couldn't find any reliable links for your accusations of cheating, but it's really beyond the point...) I'm not condoning cheating, but I'm sure there are a number of boxer who have done so - I don't choose to take that information and connect it to drug abuse. Why would you? This isn't the first time I've read, and your post doesn't say it directly, but I've read someone else say something along the lines of 'Manny must be on drugs b/c he is a cheater, like he cheated on his wife.' If that's your evidence, then you just look ******.
