Those Who Think Lopez Will Walk Through Marquez Lack Sense

Granted, its fair to say that Marquez will be at disadvantage because of the wars he went through with Izzy, but we must really take a look at the second and third fight to see if there is truly an OBVIOUS effect from those battles.

From what I saw in the trilogy (I don't really use the 4th since it was too short to gauge), Marquez was doing great UNTIL he would get hurt. I didn't see him slow down or lose any accuracy or power which one would lose as a result of wear and tear. Of course, I'm not going to say that Marquez is the same fighter he was going into the trilogy. He isn't and yes, the trilogy more than likely has had an effect on Rafa.

But the damage isn't too severe in my opinion. Stylistically, this is a tough fight for Lopez. Marquez is the better boxer of the two and has proven to be able to make adjustments. He can definitely be caught, but Rafa has experience to rely on in situations where as Lopez is still gaining his. Lopez leaves himself very open after his offense and Rafa is just as good his bro when it comes to countering. And I think its safe to say, Rafa is not featherfisted at this weight.

I'm actually going to side with Marquez via MD on this one. I think he's just too good, too smart for Lopez.

I expect JuanMan to beat Rafa convicingly. Don't get me wrong, I love Rafa and always root for him but if JuanMa wants to prove that he's the truth, he HAS TO defeat Rafa in convincing fashion. JuanMa will look like a complete joke if he loses to Rafael Marquez.

            Lopez by KO
Rafa has taken abuse that sticks with a fighter vs Vasquez
Lopez throws a lot and will be able to take Rafa's punch

He won't walk through him, but I still can't see Marquez coming out with the win.

I think he couldn't walk through Mtagwa because he went in there thinking it was an easy fight because of the record. Well he almost got walked over in the last rounds himself. If he somehow goes in there overlooking Marquez because of the wars he's been in and he might be battle worn and maybe since he's 35 Lopez might be able to last longer than him...Marquez can pull off the upset if Lopez overlooks him. But if Juanma goes in there with his game face then i'm afraid he is capable of walking through Marquez.

If Rafa's legs are still good, I expect him to knock Lopez out. What I mean by that is, if he's able to stand up to Lopez' single shot power, Rafa wil knock him out.

The Marquez' style is poison to southpaws, it makes southpaws heitant to throw their usual output. Rafa never was the fastest, but his timing, power, and accuracy still look solid. Lopez gets hit too much and against a power puncher like RM. Never seen Lopez hurt by a single shot, but seeing as how Mtagwa had him out on his feet late without landing too much early.

Unless it turns out to be a case like the stoppage in the 2nd Vazquez fight, I see Rafa stopping Lopez.
