Lamont Peterson: Why Is He So Overhyped?

Ive noticed alot of people keep dropping Lamont Petersons name whenever an opponent for Khan is mentioned. Lamont Peterson from the little I know about him was an undefeated JWW until lost to Timothy Bradley, Has never been a world champion, Apparently sparred with Mayweather Jr, Yet people go on about Lamont Peterson.

To be he is just another Salita like charachter, An undefeated padded record, Never been a world champion, Sparred with Zab Judah, And then lost his undefeated record in the first round to Khan.

Yet you dont see Khan fans dropping Salitas name everytime Bradley or Alexander is mentioned. These undefeated hypejobs exist, They get exposed when they step up to world class.

So the Lamont Peterson apologists please tell me what is so great about Peterson?

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but what do you base that on?

They drop his name as an opponent.

            Not a world beater.

He seems like a solid kid.

I woudn't consider that to be hype.

he's a good fighter with good skills and despite being down early on against arguably the best 140lb fighter in the world he came back and gave a good account of himself

and absolutely no one is hyping him to be anything other than what he already is

he's a solid younger fighter with potential, he would push khan to his limit he gave tim a war that wasn't a easy win for him he just was more experienced an better that night.

Peterson is a solid pro, good overall skills.

He put up a good effort against the best fighter at 140 pounds in Bradley.

Nobody is hyping him up and he gets the credit he deserves. I've still to see anyone say he's the next big thing!! I definitely consider him among the elite at 140 minus the experience, and an inexperienced Peterson gave Tim arguably the best 140lb guy in the world, a run for his money. Either you're hating or are lookig for a reason to. But to this day i've still to see anyone hype him up like he's the next big thing. Did he give Tim a tough fight without running and less quality experience? Yes, skill? Yes, heart? Looking at the Tim fight, yes. Did he **** up Floyd? Who knows but he fact that those rumors are out there, means there's some validity to him at least working and giving Floyd a hard time. Peterson is good and deserves his respect and to top it off he's a hardworking confident and humble guy. I completely disagree with you.
