I thought Andrew Golota vs Mike Mollo on the RJJ-Tito undercard was a great heavyweight slugfest. Golota's eye was a horrible mess afterwards.

Yeah, imagine if Golota showed that sort of heart/sanity during his younger years.

Brewster is THE most entertaining heavyweight fighter of the last 10 years. his fights against Liakhovich, Wladimir, Krasniqi, and Kali Meehan were all great action fights.

its amazing that Liakhovich was so boring in his next fight against Briggs and then stopped training entirely and turned into a fatty.

speaking of Wlad-Brewster I, that might be the third best heavyweight fight of the 2000s. only 5 rounds, but holy crap what a turnaround.

Too one-sided for my liking. Sanders stunned Klitschko in round 1, and to a lesser extent in round 3, but for the bulk of the rest of the fight, got his ass beat. He was already looking fatigued very early in the fight and from about the 5th round on, just became a showcase of how much punishment he could take.

Yeah, Brewster made for some good fights due to his toughness and tendency to block punches with his face and body.

Another good HW fight I forgot to mention was Monte Barrett-Owen Beck. Clifford Etienne-Lawrence Clay Bey was good too, definitely outshined the main event of that card in Lennox Lewis-David Tua.

I'd like to thank the topic starter for showing the VK-Lewis fight. I'd almost forgotten how much punishment they both dealt out to each other, by far the most that either has taken in any other fight, and for VK, probably in all his other fights put together. I have the fight, but haven't watched it for a long time.

As for the Brewster-Liakhovitch fight, I have not seen it until now, and I'm amazed that both were able to stand up after each round. I believe that this fight finished both of them as top fighters. They nearly killed each other, and in the 6th rd. Brewster was staggered many times, but kept going.

                  Micky Ward-Gatti #1 redivivus..........

I vote for this fight - Brewster-Liakhovitch, as the #1. Thank you again for the treat.

Possibly. Brewster suffered a detached retina from this fight. He took a lot of punishment in general. I hear he's still fighting, but I hope for his health he retires soon.

I liked Liakhovich's right hand to the body. Not a common punch, but it was extremely effective in this bout.
