Both of them hit their opponent while they were down

But only one of them got DQ'ed.

:20 seconds Corley was clearly down. First punch was okay, 2nd punch was uncalled for(Didn't get a point deducted or anything)

    :28seconds Roy gets DQ'ed

Jones' punches were clearly more obvious than Cotto's, but why is their exceptions? If you DQ one fighter for hitting another fight while down then shouldn't all fighters that hit their opponent while down be deducted 1 point or 2, or DQ'ed?

there is bias man here and there, also depends on the ref's judgment, if he thought it was more heat of the moment than intentional, then maybe he can let it slide. Also, that fight was in Puerto Rico..

Disagree. I see no way Cotto can abandon that punch while Roy had an age not to let his go. Completely different IMO.

Corley kinda bends forward from the body shot and then Cotto already starts throwin a combo before Corley goes to a knee.

Roy stops, looks at Griffin on the ground and then hits him with two pretty hard shots.

          Different ref, different place, etc.

It happens. Sometimes it's a KO, sometimes it's a DQ.

Another example that could have been disastrous is one of Edwin Valero's early KO victims he nearly decapitated who was already on the canvas for several seconds. If that was a DQ loss Edwin would have been 26-1 and his legend would have never been.

In a neutral place, Corley could have acted like he got hurt by the punch like Griffin did and possibly get a DQ win.

I think that would have been ridiculous. When Cotto starts throwing that punch Corley is not down. That is the difference.

Totally different no bs about location or anything either please..

You could maybe forgive Roy the first punch but the second??

Cotto's one is something you see alot.. he was not on the canvas when Cotto threw the shot (unlike Griffen), Cotto could do nothing to stop it

Its pretty obvious, Jones threw the punch after his opponent was on his knee for 2-3 seconds. Cotto started his punches as Corley was bent over, he landed on his knee like a half a second before Cotto landed it.
