Comments Thread For: Nielsen vs Holyfield?; Maccarinelli-Frenkel; Felix Sturm

EBU cruiser champ Enzo Maccarinelli will defend the title against mandatory challenger Alexander Frenkel but when and where is still not announced. The fight went to purse bids today in Rome with Sauerland Event handing in the sole and thus winning bid while Frank Warren Promotions informed the EBU that an agreement had been reached. As for now the EBU will recognize the purse bid as an agreement needs the signature of both parties. [Click Here To Read More]

As long as the fight is not in Denmark Holyfield should have enough left to beat Nielsen.

Frenkel-Maccarinelli is interesting, I think Frenkel will win but he sometimes doesn't switch on in fights and you never know what can happen with Maccarinelli's power.

Gregory Tony vs. Robert Helenius: two undefeated heavyweights. Someone's "0" has got to go.

Frenkel-Maccarinelli is an interesting one. Frenkel will very likely win by KO, but Enzo is a dangerous puncher in the early rounds so you never know.

I imagine both these fights will be on the same Sauerland card.

november seems a long break for holyfield since he just come off a long lay off a thought he would of been back in the summer anyway he will beat neilsen these fights against guys near his age are easily winnable due to the fact hes way fitter than them as botha found out so i have no problem with him fighting at this level

              He definitely should retire.

I don't believe anyone would want to see Neilsen-Holyfield at this time. 10-12 years ago it would have been a fairly interesting fight.

regarding the old schoolers... i mean there are a billion different belts and boxing organizations all ready, if these guys still want to fight--can't/shouldn't an age division also be made? some of those fights would get decent publicity too (albeit NO ppv, please). we shouldn't deny these guys an opportunity completely after what a lot of them have given to the sport, but at the same time we can't hold them to the same standards with fighters in their prime now.

As long as Holyfield fights other old guys who can't hurt him, who cares, let the guy fight...
