About Floyd winning "FOTD" if he didn't retire...

I mean seriously. People act like he was gonna man up and fight Cotto and Margarito in that time frame. He had every opportunity to do so when he wasn't retired but didn't, so what make anyone think he would have during those two years.

Not only that but everyone knows 100% that all he would have done is rematch DLH and Hatton, getting him more money, but leaving his resume no better than it is now.

    spring/summer 2008 DLH rematch
    Late fall 2008 Hatton rematch
    Summer/sept 2009 Marquez fight

So how the hell would that get him FOTD award? Pac would have still faced Manny because that would be a big money fight for him, and Hatton vs Pac would have happened also because there was no other big fight at 140 for Manny.

    LOL!

That's personally how I felt coz I'm not bent on breaking it down per year.

Manny Pacquiao deserved it, and if Floyd didn't retire, he has a chance, only if those 2 years he fought top competition.

    But what's done is done.

Die hard Floyd fans need to let it go.

But lets just say that Manny didn't take the Hatton fight. That would have been even better for Pac as far as winning FOTD, because they would have faced Margarito pre-Mosley. That win would have been bigger than his wins over MAB, Cotto and others.

I remember Team Pacquiao wanting this fight and both Manny and Freddie saying they could beat Tony and every one laughing at them. Arum would have made it happen, due to the whole mexicutioner thing, and even though we know Manny would beat Tony now, It would have been the biggest shock in boxing, because no one would ever think Manny would last more than a few rounds with him back then.

        Peace
only because your favorite boxer didn't win it. Stop it guy....fighter of the decade is an award that has went to the very best in the history of the sport, guys like Ali, Robinson and Roy Jones. I'm just voicing my opinion because I keep hearing this b.s. statement spewed by Floyd fans. It's only proper that I shoot it down accordingly....lol
