Here we go....................by stephen edwards.
1. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao. Armageddon if you will. This fight presents the ultimate contrast in personality and styles. The backdrop has a reality show feel, from PEDs to ***elry, to politics. Did I mention the two best fighters of the last 10 years will be involved in this fight. Both fighters are at prime level and they are both red hot. I may be in the minority but I believe this fight will end in a knockout!
2. Paul Williams vs. Sergio Martinez. the 1st fight was a thriller that Williams narrowly won. In a rematch the stakes will be higher. Martinez is now the Ring middleweight champion. This fight has no chance of being a stinker.
3. Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye. This is the biggest feasible fight the heavyweight division can produce. Haye would seem to have a slightly better chance against Wlad because of his chin. Haye is athletic, he can punch and he is charismatic. The promotion would be great.
4. Devon Alexander vs. Timothy Bradley. The winner of this fight would produce an instant star. This has the chance to be a legacy defining fight.
5. Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito. This is a fight where just about everybody would root for Cotto. Cotto was possibly bludgeoned by illegal wraps in their 1st great fight. The Puerto Rico vs Mexico angle along with revenge, makes this a must see.
6.Chad Dawson vs. Tavoris Cloud. It may seem as though Dawson does not have many challengers at 175 but Cloud is no joke. He is an all business volume power puncher. He is also undefeated and in his prime. I believe he could push Dawson and make an exciting fight out of it.
7.Shane Mosley vs. Andre Berto. This fight would determine many things for us. We will see if Mosley is old and shot. We will also find out if Berto is for real. I say make the fight late summer or early fall.
8.Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Juan Manuel Lopez. This fight is very similiar to Bradley/Alexander. The winner will create an instant star. This fight will also likely end in a knockout.
9. Celestino Caballero vs. Rafael Marquez. You talk about a war. Marquez can still throw hands and all Caballero does is throw hands. Fight of the year!
10. Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel. Phillipines vs. Mexico. Montiel is coming off of a huge victory over the highly regarded Hozumi Hasegawa, he also has a victory over former pound for pounder Martin Castillo. Donaire needs dance partner to cement the high praises he has been getting.
