BTW before my reply from the first page gets flamed....here is proof backing up what I said earlier..

Straight from the horses mouth, here is what NVSAC says about this

        http://boxing.nv.gov/New_FAQ.htm

Question: What drinks are allowed in the corner during a fight?

Answer: Water and electrolyte drinks are allowed in the corner. Any electrolyte drink must be brought to the arena in factory-sealed, plastic bottles. Moreover, a contestant must provide the Commission and its staff with information about the requested drink in sufficient time to make a determination as to whether the drink is approvable (e.g., no stimulants, alcohol, drugs, or other questionable ingredients, etc.). Currently, Smart Water, Option, Gatorade, Powerade and Propel are approved. Energy drinks and soft drinks are not allowed in the corner.

Red Bull tests positive as if you were smoking Marihuana on the drug test.

i think it would be even more fun to watch if the fighters were all steroids and coke/meth and drank monster energy drinks in the corner..

honestly if i was fighting i'd go with pedialyte and water

also sugar and those extra ingredients = cramps, and the main reason everyone sticks to using water only in corners.

True. I use to do it as well when I played, but I think getting hit solid in the stomach by a punch is what most boxers fear. I mean it's perfectly legal to drink sports drinks but no one does it, and those are the only reasons I can think of as to why; cramps and getting hit with body shots.

The real reason, and I'm not trying to be funny either, is after a while you keep drinking that stuff and you get hit in the stomach with a viscous body punch your pretty much fvkked. I know first hand that drinking anything other than water and getting hit in the stomach is the worst thing that can happen to you when competing in a sport.
Would it result in a Robbie Peden moment?
