Timothy Bradley vs Andre Berto in the Fall?

Does anyone else see Bradley-Berto in the Fall? That's when Berto is set to fight again, and his team made it clear that he'd like to fight the big names at 140. Bradley is already moving up to 147 for one fight, so that could make it even more possible. A victory over Abregu definitely isn't enough to lure Manny or Floyd, Berto could possibly is. I mean Berto is HBO's child. Not a big draw, but a big name at 147. And if that's not enough, there are other names like Clottey.

Whether you guys like it or not, making himself available for boxing's two biggest stars is the best choice right now. Sure he might not get it, but why not make the possibility larger? And if he doesn't get it, he'll be happy to unify the titles at 140. And a victory over Abregu without a doubt opens the doors for Berto, who would like to fight one of the big names at 140. For example, Floyd could have stayed at 135 and 140 and faced bigger names there, but one more year at the lower weights would have completely eliminated the possibility of the De La Hoya showdown, and would Floyd have been as big of a star as he is today without that De La Hoya fight? Hell no. He'd still be doing 300k in New Jersey.

As long as Berto or Bradley fight somebody in the top 5 of their divisions, I"m fine. Until then, nothing special is going on, especially with Berto.

Top 5? Well for Berto, Cotto is also an option. I mentioned a while ago that if they fought, it would be a perfect opportunity for both to answer to the critics. Berto could prove that he's ready for the elite competition, and Cotto could prove that he's still got it.

As for Berto, he's got like four options down at 140. Although Golden Boy doesn't seem to be interested in throwing Ortiz at him, and I doubt Maidana is interested, so that just leaves two. I'd like to see Bradley-Ortiz and Alexander-Khan, but I doubt Khan and Ortiz would take those two fights.

If this fight happens it will be at 147. Berto is not fighting at 140 I don't care what he says it is just **** talking on his part.

He already said he wants the top names at 140 (Bradley, Khan, Alexander, Ortiz, Maidana). Bradley is already at 147 now, so its a huge possibility.

They'd also be fighting a rematch of their amateur bout, which Berto won.

I guess Bradley knows that Mayweather and Pacquiao aren't gonna be Boxing for long. He'd beat Berto in my opinion.

I don't think he can make Jr WW. Just way too muscular.

I don't think he said he would go down to 140. I believe his team said he'd fight them at catch weights of 143 or 144. But what really bugged me is that they said Berto isn't a big WW, so it would be easy for him to get down. Sure he isn't tall, but the dude is built. He's bigger than a lot of JMWs. I doubt he'd be able to get lower than 144.

Great Read...This is exactly what Timothy wants to do...Make himself more available for bigger names and bigger fights. I could see this fight happening at the end of the year.....
